Review of Ethnicity Statistics

Statistics New Zealand is reviewing the official ethnicity statistical standard with a view to addressing some issue relating to the 'New Zealander' response. A discussion paper outlining the issues and proposed actions to address them has been published and Statistics NZ sought feedback (submissions closed on 25 May 2009). Following evaluation of the feedback, Statistics NZ expects to publish a final report of the review in the fourth quarter of 2009.

The discussion paper and more information about the review can be found at Review of the Ethnicity Statistical Standard 2009.
