About the Web Stats! seminars
In July 2009 the Statistics NZ website will be relaunched with new features and a new look. We made these changes after asking people how they wanted to search and get information from us.
The Web Stats! seminar series has been developed so we can show you how to navigate our new website, and how to use our online tools to easily access our information. We have a wealth of information available on our website that we want you to use!
We're running the seminars between late August and mid October 2009 nationwide. Go to the Web Stats! seminar venues webpage to see if a seminar has been organised in your region.
Who are the seminars for?
Everyone! It doesn’t matter if you’re a small business owner, a community group or an individual who wants to find out more about our new website.
Do I need to know a lot about statistics to attend?
No, not at all. The seminars are informal and designed to benefit everyone from first-time users to those with more experience.
What can I expect if I attend?
Our Client Relationship Advisors will run the seminars. The seminars are informal and will go for approximately 90 minutes.
Refreshments will be available 15 minutes before the scheduled seminar start time. After that, the presentation will start and cover:
- how to navigate the new website
- tips on how to get information quickly
- how to find information easily using our two online tools – Infoshare and Table Builder
- what key statistical information we have available about your area
- examples of how to use our information for businesses and communities.
We’ll have computers available after the presentation so you can look at information that may be of particular interest to you.
Information resources will be made available at each seminar for you to take away with you.
Do I have to pay to attend?
No, it’s free to attend.
