Innovative businesses are fundamental to economic growth and development. The innovation module of the Business Operations Survey collects data on the nature of innovation and how it changes over time, the mechanisms that foster or hinder the innovation process and the effect of innovation on business performance. The Innovation in New Zealand 2005 report is based on data collected from the Business Operations Survey 2005. Innovation is defined as the introduction of any new or significantly improved goods, services, processes or marketing methods.A Hot Off The Press information release contains the initial release of data from the Business Operations Survey 2005. This report focuses on the innovation and business performance sections of the survey and provides more detailed information.
