Internal Migration

The Internal Migration report provides a statistical overview of internal migration in New Zealand. It is based on information from the Census of Population and Dwellings and the Survey of Dynamics and Motivations for Migration in New Zealand.

This analytical report has been designed for the web and is the first report of its kind by Statistics New Zealand. The report is split into a number of topics that stand independently. Related topics will continue to be added to this page. Statistics New Zealand welcomes comments from readers on the content and format of this report.
