Changes in the seasonally adjusted value of transactions (compared with August 2011) were as follows:
- Total electronic card transactions rose slightly, up 0.2 percent.
- Transactions in the retail industries rose 0.4 percent.
- Transactions in the core retail industries were up 0.6 percent.
- The largest increase was in fuel transactions, which rose 2.9 percent.
The actual (unadjusted) value of total transactions was up 6.5 percent from September 2010.
