The investment by country series include additional countries to that released in tables 22 to 29 of the Balance of Payments and International Investment Position: Year ended 31 March 2016. Annual flows and stocks by country are available for 233 countries for the year ended March, 2001 to 2016.

The flows by country series include data on investment flows between New Zealand and all other countries, both incoming and outgoing. The stocks by country series record the stock of New Zealand’s investment abroad, and the stocks of investment in New Zealand held by all other countries, at 31 March. Both series provide data split by type of investment; direct investment, portfolio investment, other investment, and total investment.
