In October 2012 compared with September 2012:

  • Food prices fell 0.6 percent.
  • Fruit and vegetable prices fell 5.5 percent.
  • Restaurant meals and ready-to-eat food prices fell 0.5 percent.
  • Meat, poultry, and fish prices rose 0.1 percent.
  • Non-alcoholic beverage prices rose 0.5 percent.
  • Grocery food prices rose 0.5 percent.

From October 2011 to October 2012:

  • Food prices increased 0.3 percent.
