These releases provide official productivity statistics for the 'measured sector' of the New Zealand economy. Productivity is a measure of how efficiently production inputs (capital and labour) are used within the economy to produce output.
We have changed the way we present our productivity statistics information
For the productivity statistics we released on 30 June 2015, and on 23 March 2016, we combined the data from our Productivity Statistics and Industry Productivity Statistics releases into one release each year.
See Improving productivity statistics for more information.
Productivity statistics: Sources and methods (10th edition), published in March 2014, includes sources and methods for education and health industry productivity statistics, which we produced for the first time in April 2013.
