The Stocktake for the Environment Domain Plan: 2010 documents all existing data on the environment, relevant to ten topics. The focus of the stocktake is on national-level environmental official statistics, and it has been compiled with the cooperation of many data custodians, including government agencies and crown research institutes (CRIs). The participation of these organisations and their support for the Domain Plan is appreciated.
This stocktake is the first part of the work being undertaken by Statistics New Zealand, the Ministry for the Environment, and the Department of Conservation, to develop a domain plan for the environment.
The Environment Domain Plan will address gaps, overlaps, and deficiencies in environmental data and reach agreement, between users and data custodians, over the priorities to meet the information gaps, overlaps and deficiencies identified.
