The Water Physical Stock Account 1995–2005 provides information on quantities of water in the inland part of the hydrological system at national and regional levels for the June years 1995 to 2005 and describes how the stocks of freshwater are affected by water flows within the hydrological system during accounting periods.
Results contained in this report are revised from the Water Physical Stock Account: 1995–2001. The results have been revised due to improvements made by the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) to the national hydrological model. The accuracy of the region boundaries used in the hydrological model has also been improved over those used in the first edition of the water account.
