Introduction
Selected Bibliography of Information on Using New Zealand Injury Data presents selected references for articles relating to information on using New Zealand injury data. It is designed to be used as a guide for people who want to explore and use injury data.
The Official Injury Information Plan for 2009 published by Statistics New Zealand in April 2009 prioritised the documentation of injury data collections. The plan set out a programme of work to improve the documentation of injury data collections, making them more useful, accessible, and consistent.
Part of this work programme includes identifying documentation about injury datasets. Data documentation, sometimes called metadata (information about data), constitutes information that enables the effective, efficient, and accurate use of those datasets. This bibliography aims to make New Zealand injury data more useful by enhancing understanding of the data, including its limitations.
