International guest nights fall in July
Highlights
In July 2008 compared with July 2007:
Total guest nights decreased 46,000 (2 percent).
International guest nights decreased 67,000 (8 percent).
Domestic guest nights increased 21,000 (2 percent).
Guest nights in the North Island fell 4 percent while South Island guest nights remained steady.
Eight of the twelve regions recorded fewer guest nights, led by Waikato and Auckland.
Four of the five accommodation types had fewer guest nights, led by motels.
