Compared with May 2008:

• Total guest nights were 1 percent lower.
• Guest nights were down 2 percent in the North Island and up 2 percent in the South Island.
• International guest nights were down 6 percent in the North Island and up 5 percent in the South Island.
• Domestic guest nights were down 1 percent in the South Island.
• Domestic guest nights were down less than 1 percent in the North Island.
