In November 2008 compared with November 2007:
- Total guest nights decreased 4 percent.
- International guest nights decreased 8 percent and domestic guest nights decreased 1 percent.
- All five accommodation types had fewer guest nights, led by motels.
- Nine of the 12 regions recorded fewer guest nights, led by Bay of Plenty and Auckland.
