Wholesale Trade Survey: March 2012 quarter

Key facts

For the March 2012 quarter, compared with the December 2011 quarter (on a seasonally adjusted basis):

  • Total wholesale trade sales rose 2.4 percent ($496 million).
  • The main contributors to this rise were motor vehicles and motor-vehicle parts wholesaling (up $193 million) and other goods wholesaling (up $162 million).
  • Total wholesale trade stocks fell 3.4 percent ($301 million).

The trend for total wholesale sales has generally been positive since mid 2009.
