Survey of English Language Providers: Year ended March 2010

Highlights

For the year ended March 2010:

  • The number of international students enrolled at English language schools in New Zealand increased 13.0 percent from the previous March year.

 

  • South Korean and Chinese students were the largest contributors to the overall increase in student numbers.

 

  • Tuition and related fees received by English language schools from international students was $140 million, down $2.2 million from the previous March year.

 

  • The total number of student weeks completed at English language schools was up 1.7 percent.
