Arrivals from China drive small increase in visitors

In May 2012 compared with May 2011:
Visitor arrivals (140,800) were up 100. The biggest changes were in arrivals from:
China (up 4,400)
the United Kingdom (down 1,400)
Australia (down 2,000).
Overseas trips by New Zealand residents (179,300) were down 2,500. The biggest changes were in departures to:
the United States (up 1,300)
Samoa (up 1,000)
Singapore (down 1,000).
In May 2012:
Seasonally adjusted figures showed a net gain of 200 migrants.
