Drop in September travel
Highlights
Visitor arrivals (157,700) were down 7 percent from September 2007 (168,800).
There were fewer visitors from China (down 2,700), Australia (down 2,200), Korea (down 2,000) and Japan (down 1,800).
New Zealand resident departures (192,000) were down 8 percent from September 2007 (208,500).
There were fewer trips by New Zealand residents to Australia (down 9,900) and France (down 3,100).
Permanent and long-term arrivals matched departures on a seasonally adjusted basis.
