Home ownership

The Other ethnic group is a grouping of ethnic responses that does not fit neatly into the other groupings of ethnicities. The vast majority of these responses comprise the New Zealander category. This category has quite distinct characteristics in the 2006 Census, which differ from other ethnic groupings.

Both the overseas-born movers and non-movers among this group are much more likely to be homeowners than their New Zealand-born counterparts. There is very little variation in home ownership among non-movers across different geographic areas.
