Overview
As part of its International Travel and Migration dataset, Statistics New Zealand is now releasing data on the permit type of short-term overseas visitor arrivals and permanent and long-term (PLT) migrants arriving into New Zealand. This article introduces the permit types, then examines arrivals by permit type for the June 2003–2008 years. In addition to changes over time, the country of residence and age of people arriving on specific permit types are analysed.
