Index of key New Zealand statistics

Income statistics show information about the income of New Zealanders, across personal variables and different sectors. Income sources are salary and wages, self-employment, investments, and government benefits and support.

Listed below are the titles of tables found previously in chapter 4 of the Key Statistics publication. Below the list is an outline of where you can find this data now. Further help is available from our Information Centre.

Table 1 Average hourly earnings, by sex and by sector

You can find this information in Infoshare. Choose the Subject category: Work income and spending, then choose Earnings and Employment Survey (QES) – QEX, and the table QEX – Average Hourly Earnings by Sector and Sex (Qrtly-Mar/Jun/Sep/Dec).

Select these variables:

  • 'Select All' in Sector
  • 'Select All' in Sex
  • 'Select All' in Hourly Earnings
  • And the time periods you want.

Click the 'Go' button.
