Research and development

The Research and Development (R&D) Survey is a joint survey conducted every two years by Statistics New Zealand and sponsored by the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology (MoRST). The statistics produced from this survey help the government deliver policies to encourage research and innovation in New Zealand .

 

The Research and Development Survey key measures include:

  • overall R&D activity
  • type of R&D expenditure by:
    • private sector
    • government sector
    • higher education sector
  • R&D funding by source of funds
  • R&D employment by occupation/ qualification by sector.


Results from previous surveys have been released by MoRST.
