The Accommodation Survey gathers monthly data about capacity, occupancy rates and guest nights for the commercial accommodation industry, at a regional level.
Every three months, it records employment and guest nights by usual region of residence of guests.
Businesses surveyed mainly provide short-term accommodation (less than one month). They include hotels, motels, camping grounds, caravan parks, guest houses, holiday houses, ski lodges and youth hostels.
