The annual Income Survey collects pre-tax income information on self-employment, wages and salaries, government transfers, other transfers (ie. private superannuation or pension schemes, and annuities) and investments (from 2002).
Details available include actual and usual weekly, hourly and overtime earnings, self-employment income, income from government transfers (eg family support, benefits, superannuation), regular private income, and investment income.
It is run as a supplement to the Household Labour Force Survey.
