Statistics about agricultural production cover the main animals farmed (sheep, beef and dairy cattle, deer) and arable farming in New Zealand. They also measure agriculture by farm type, kind of animal farmed, fertiliser used, region and territorial authorities 

2007 Agricultural Production Census – Agriculture


The 2007 Agricultural Production Census statistics present a snapshot of New Zealand primary production. Additional tables are available; these follow the first final release of statistics from 2007 Agricultural Production Census in May 2008.

The Census covered number of farms, livestock numbers, the amount and type of arable crops harvested, and land used for agricultural production such as grazing and grain growing.
