Primary production

Statistics about primary production give details about animal farming (including sheep, beef and dairy cattle, and deer), crop growing (including grain and seed crops, fruit and vegetables, wine grapes and nursery plants), forestry and farm practices (including irrigation and fertiliser use).


2008 Agricultural Production Survey

The final statistics are now available


Statistics New Zealand has undertaken the 2008 Agricultural Production Survey. It is part of the current programme of censuses and surveys of agricultural production.

 

The 2008 Agricultural Production Survey covers agricultural land use, livestock and arable farming, forestry and farming practices. The statistics include information at both national and regional levels and provide up-to-date statistics on agricultural and forestry activities.The final results from the 2008 survey are now available.  More statistics are available via Infoshare.
