Non-financial assets
Classification

The Statistical Classification of Non-financial Assets (SCNFA) has been developed for classifying the non-financial assets of all institutional units within the New Zealand economy.

SCNFA is a four-level hierarchical classification.  Level 1 has 2 categories, level 2 has 6 categories, level 3 has 20 categories, and level 4 has 50 categories.

The classification reflects the System of National Accounts 2008 (SNA08) classification at level 1 and 2, but has some minor changes at the lower levels including a more detailed breakdown of some categories.  The concepts and definitions described in the SNA08 are applied to this classification with some adjustment for New Zealand requirements. For further details see the 'Available files' section.
