Time use

Time use statistics give information about how New Zealand residents aged 12 and over spend their time.

It includes details about the proportions of time people spend on paid and unpaid work, leisure, and personal care, and what time of day they do them.

Information includes the actual hours that people spend doing paid work, health maintenance activites, voluntary work, education, and travel.

It also gives details about the characteristics of people doing voluntary work and caring activities (eg unpaid childcare, helping relatives).
