Families

Census information about families refers to three kinds of relationships among families living in a single household (couple with children, couple-only and one parent with children).

Extended families consist of one family plus other related people, or two or more related families with or without other related people, all living in the same household.

Information about families living in more than one household is not currently collected.

Statistics about families include information about numbers and make-up of these different kinds of families.

Detailed information about families includes the number of children living in these different kinds of families, where they live, housing, and access to amenities such as the Internet and vehicles.
