Details about private homes include:
- number of bedrooms
- occupied and unoccupied homes
- permanent and temporary homes (eg tents and caravans)
- tenure (owner-occupied, rented and homes provided free).
Other housing information includes statistics about the households living in private homes, and housing costs.
Statistics New Zealand's housing statistics programme is developing a comprehensive range of authoritative, integrated housing statistics, including housing profiles and indicators, and analytical work.
