Local Authority Statistics: June 2008 quarter

• Local authorities recorded a seasonally adjusted surplus of $22.7 million in the June 2008 quarter.

• Seasonally adjusted operating revenue decreased 1.0 percent to $1,569.1 million in the June 2008 quarter.

• Seasonally adjusted operating expenditure increased 1.4 percent to $1,546.4 million in the June 2008 quarter.

• Local authorities recorded a provisional annual surplus of $158.6 million for the year ended June 2008.
