
Highlights
For April 2008 compared with March 2008 (on a seasonally adjusted basis):
- Total retail sales rose 1.0 percent ($52 million).
- Core retail sales fell 0.5 percent ($19 million).
- Fourteen of the 24 retail industries had increased sales.
- Supermarket and grocery stores sales fell 3.6 percent ($43 million).
- Motor vehicle retailing rose 8.1 percent ($51 million).
