Highlights


For April 2008 compared with March 2008 (on a seasonally adjusted basis):

  • Total retail sales rose 1.0 percent ($52 million).
  • Core retail sales fell 0.5 percent ($19 million).
  • Fourteen of the 24 retail industries had increased sales.
  • Supermarket and grocery stores sales fell 3.6 percent ($43 million).
  • Motor vehicle retailing rose 8.1 percent ($51 million).
