Highlights


  • Food prices decreased 0.9 percent from January 2006 to February 2006.

 

  • Fruit and vegetable prices fell 6.6 percent, driven by lower prices for fresh fruit and vegetables.

 

  • Meat, fish and poultry prices fell 1.3 percent. 

 

  • Grocery food, soft drinks and confectionery prices fell 0.2 percent.

 

  • Restaurant meals and ready-to-eat food prices rose 0.3 percent.

 

  • Food prices increased 1.1 percent for the year to February 2006.
