- The value of consents issued for residential buildings was $444 million in April 2006, $9 million (2.0 percent) higher than in April 2005.
- The value of consents issued for non-residential buildings was $209 million in April 2006, $19 million (8.4 percent) lower than in April 2005.
- The trend for the total value of all building consents issued has been easing since November 2005.
