- Apartment units accounted for 4 percent of all new dwelling units authorised in June 2006, compared with a 14 percent average for the 12 months prior to June 2006.

- The value of consents issued for non-residential buildings was $411 million in June 2006, $5 million (1.3 percent) higher than in June 2005.
- Six out of 16 regions recorded fewer new dwelling units in June 2006 than in June 2005.
