
Highlights
- Food prices fell 0.5 percent from November to December 2006.
- Grocery food fell 0.8 percent driven by lower prices for potato crisps.
- Fruit and vegetable prices fell 1.9 percent driven by lower prices for tomatoes and cabbages.
- Non-alcoholic beverage prices fell 0.4 percent.
- Meat, poultry and fish prices rose 0.2 percent.
- Restaurant meals and ready-to-eat food prices rose 0.3 percent.
- Food prices increased 2.7 percent for the year to December 2006.
