In July 2007 Statistics New Zealand initiated a quality control review and analysis of previously published Producers Price Index (PPI) releases.
This review, which is not yet completed, has identified some errors that will require revisions to be made to Statistics New Zealand’s previously published PPI data. The extent of these revisions is still being determined.
Statistics New Zealand has therefore decided to delay the scheduled release of the Producers Price Index and the Capital Goods Price Index (CGPI) for the June 2007 quarter until the review process is completed.
The media conference for the PPI and CGPI that had been planned for Wednesday, 15 August at 10.45 am is cancelled.
Once Statistics New Zealand has completed this review, a media advisory will be issued to announce a new date for the publication of the PPI and the CGPI for the June 2007 quarter.
Statistics New Zealand regrets any inconvenience this may cause.
