
Highlights
For October 2007 compared with October 2006:
- Consents for new dwellings fell by 292 units, to 2,085.
- Consents for new dwellings fell by 272 units in the North Island and by 20 units in the South Island.
- Consents for new apartments fell by 260 units, to 113.
- Residential building consent values fell $23 million, to $646 million.
- Non-residential building consent values rose $51 million, to $381 million.
The trend for the number of new dwelling units is declining.
