
Highlights
For December 2007 compared with December 2006:
- Consents for new dwellings fell by 145 units, to 1,738.
- Consents for new apartments rose by 101 units, to 214.
- Consents for new dwellings fell by 125 units in the South Island and
21 in the North Island.
- Residential building consent values fell $25 million, to $539 million.
- Non-residential building consent values fell $2 million, to $331 million.
The trends for both the number of new dwellings and the value of residential buildings are declining.
