
Highlights
For February 2008 compared with February 2007:
- Consents for new dwellings fell by 218 units, to 1,874.
- Consents for new apartments fell by 56 units, to 173.
- Consents for new dwellings fell by 30 units in the North Island and
by 189 in the South Island.
- Residential building consent values rose $18 million, to $615 million.
- Non-residential building consent values rose $78 million, to $361 million.
The trends for both the number of new dwellings and the value of residential buildings continue to decline.
