Highlights


For the March 2008 quarter compared with the December 2007 quarter (on a seasonally adjusted basis):

    • Total retail volumes fell 1.2 percent.
    • Total retail sales remained unchanged.
    • Per head of population, volumes fell 1.5 percent.
    • Supermarket and grocery store sales rose 4.7 percent.
    • Motor vehicle retailing sales fell 6.9 percent.
