This publication provides information on the proposed structure and content of the New Zealand Standard Institutional Sector Classification 2012 (NZSISC12), including what has changed from the 1996 version.
The classification is being updated to ensure it accurately reflects the current economic structure of the New Zealand economy. It now aligns as much as possible with the System of National Accounts 2008 (SNA08).
We took comments and questions about the proposed structure of NZSISC12, and the concepts, definitions, and examples we gave until 16 November 2012. The consultation period is now over.
