Tourism and Migration 2004 is an annual update, for the December 2004 year, of a number of the tables contained in the Tourism and Migration 2000 report. Some of these are pivot tables, which allow significantly more information to be efficiently presented to the user than is possible in a standard table. The update does not include commentary or analysis. For some related commentary and analysis, see the External Migration: December 2004 Year Hot Off The Press.
Resolution of confidentiality issues has allowed the re-instatement of a number of tables containing port data. Tables 1.02, 1.03. and 1.04 contain port data based on international passenger traffic while tables 2.10 and 2.11 contain port data based on overseas visitors to New Zealand. There is also a new pivot table available this year, table 9.10, containing data based on permanent and long-term migration by country of citizenship.
The Tourism and Migration 2000 report was released in December 2001. Its aim was to give a full picture of New Zealand tourism and migration, including domestic tourism and internal migration. It contains annual data up until 2000 and examines recent highlights as well as changes over several decades. In addition, throughout the report there are links to further information - including the latest data. The report includes both an in-depth commentary - incorporating graphs and tables - and supplementary tables which can be downloaded.
