As we get older we typically think about owning cars, houses, and plasma TVs – we buy more and more stuff. Many of us get into debt to buy these things, but are we good at paying it off, or do we just get more debt as we get older?
Using the SURF investigate how debt changes with age.
Part 1
You will need to:
Problem – state the problem.
Plan – outline how the investigation can be carried out.
Data – look for appropriate variables to use and check that it is clean.
Analyse – graph the variables, look at their relationships and do the appropriate calculations.
Conclusions – what does the analysis suggest and does it answer the problem?
Part 2
Looking into the data further, is there any difference between people live with their partner and those that don’t (or don’t have a partner): are we better at managing debt when we have someone sharing the bills?
