Upcoming data changes

  • In January 2012, we introduced a revised classification based on the tariff for overseas trade statistics, Harmonised System 2012 (HS2012).
    This major five-yearly review ensures the classification remains current with international trade patterns, as well as environmental and social issues of global concern.
    To help minimise any impact of these revisions, we are keen to find out if you have any requirements that would help you manage the change.

  • The February 2011 earthquake in Christchurch has affected the release date of some of our information releases. Check the updated schedule in the release calendar.
  • Information about data changes for Auckland Council: Changes to Auckland’s local government came into effect on 1 November 2010. For information on how Statistics New Zealand is managing data affected by the council restructure, please visit www.stats.govt.nz/aucklandcouncil. We will add details in the 'Changes by date' below when Infoshare is affected.
  • Industry data changes under the ANZSIC 2006 classification: The timetable for the next update is listed under ANZSIC06 Release dates.

 8 February  (SEP) Release of Ready Mixed Concrete (Rest of New Zealand) data: December 2011 quarter and annual (SEP+.SAF++)
 8 February  (PRP) Release of Poultry data: December 2011 quarter and year (PRP+.SAA++)
 7 February  (LCI) Labour Cost Index (Salary and Wage Rates). The labour cost index analytical unadjusted figures for the December 2011 quarter will not be available on Infoshare until Wednesday, 8 February 2012. In the meantime, the December 2011 quarter analytical unadjusted figures are available in tables 8.1 and 8.2 of Labour Cost Index (Salary and Wage Rates): December 2011 quarter, tables.

The Overseas Cargo statistics released on 28 October 2011 have been revised for the months September 2011 to December 2011 inclusive, as advised in the Tuesday 31 January announced error. While all series have been updated, the affected series are:

(OSC) Overseas Cargo Statistics
An error within these series has been discovered. The corrected data will be released on Thursday 2 February 2012 at 10:45am.  In the meantime we recommend using with caution. 

Please note that the value component of these series can be sourced from Table Builder.  Further specific detail regarding the affected series will be made available when released on Thursday.
 27 January (SEP) Release of ready mixed concrete data by region (Auckland, Northland -SEPQ.SAFR6, SAFRA, SAFRB): December 2011 quarter.
 26 January (LSS) Release of livestock slaughtering data: December 2011 month and December 2011 quarter and year.
 19 January

 The consumers price index (CPI) trimmed mean and weighted percentile figures for the December 2011 quarter will not be available on Infoshare until Friday 20 January 2011. In the meantime, the December 2011 quarter trimmed mean and weighted percentile figures are available in tables 11 and 12 of the CPI information release:

19 January (FLT) Release of forestry, logging and timber production data: September 2011 quarter and year.
13 January (TPT) Release of transport vehicle registrations data: December 2011 month, quarter, and annual.
10 January

(BLD) This release for Building Consents Issued: November 2011 will include revised figures for July 2011. The revisions are due to corrected data received for a consent issued in Hamilton City. The revisions include a change to the number, value, and floor area of dwellings and non-residential buildings in Hamilton city, and the following series for Hamilton city on Infoshare:
